Predicted congestion to the south has occurred
Salzburg/Golling (OTS) – ASFINAG controls exit closures on the A 10 Tauernautobahn
ASFINAG rejects the current criticism of inadequate controls at the exit barriers on the A 10 Tauernautobahn. The pre-Christmas congestion on the A 10, which ASFINAG had communicated for a long time and countless times, has occurred and several teams of traffic managers are on duty at the critical junctions of Hallein, Kuchl and Golling. The regulation on departure closures provides for corresponding exceptions for Salzburg residents and with regard to winter tourism in the state. For example, if skiers head for the Dachstein West region via Kuchl and Golling, they are free to do so in terms of destination traffic.
The regulation (until April 1, 2024) in the wording:
In order to avoid traffic disruptions (backlogs) and in particular to increase the ease and fluidity of traffic, vehicles are prohibited from leaving the following (semi) junctions on the A 10 Tauern Autobahn:
- Hallein (km 16)
- Kuchl (km 22)
- Golling-Abtenau (km 28)
- Pfarrwerfen-Werfen (km 44)
- Eben im Pongau (km 60) – into the B99 Katschberg Straße
This excludes:
- at the Golling-Abtenau and Eben im Pongau junctions, journeys with destinations in the federal state of Salzburg or the Gmunden district,
- at the Hallein junction and the HASt Kuchl and Pfarrwerfen-Werfen, each travels to the destination in the state of Salzburg.
