E-fleets at record levels

By 2025, Arval has set itself the goal of leasing 350,000 battery-electric and a total of 700,000 electrified vehicles in order to reduce the fleet’s CO2 emissions by 35 percent compared to 2020. In order to continue this development successfully, Arval recently introduced Arval Charging Services announced. An offer that combines leasing a vehicle with a charging station and is available to both companies and private customers.

Arval also signed a global agreement with ChargePoint, a large provider of charging networks for electric vehicles. This makes it possible for Arval customers to set up charging stations at work and at home. These are equipped with a digital reimbursement system and offer access to a network of more than 500,000 charging points across Europe.

New partnerships

In 2023, Arval will have cooperation with its long-term partner Element as well as with Sumitomo Mitsui Auto Services (SMAS) announced. This agreement enables global customers to access vehicle leasing and fleet management services in Japan, Thailand, India and Indonesia. This alliance was also expanded to include SIXT Mega Rent in Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

In addition to strong partnerships with banks – above all with BNP Paribas, but also with CaixaBank in Spain and Portugal, UniCredit Bank in Austria, Erste Bank in Slovakia, etc. – Arval has cooperation with other players in the automotive sector within the framework of international strategic Partnerships continued. Innovative mobility solutions

Arval has launched new offers to promote alternative mobility solutions. This is how the introduction of Shared mobility solutions for employees continued in six other countries. The Car sharing offer from Arval is now available in 15 countries, with a total of 125,000 bookings made on the platform across all countries in 2023. The Arval Mobility Passa solution that combines a payment card, an app and a management platform to improve the mobility of employers and employees, was launched in 2023 with Edenred in Brazil, Betterway in France and XXImo in the Netherlands. Last year, Arval launched its used car leasing offer Arval Re-lease launched in 21 countries – five more than the year before. Arval thus offers an intelligent solution that gives customers access to high-quality vehicles at attractive leasing rates and at the same time extends their useful life. The Arval re-lease fleet grew by 139 percent (!) compared to the previous year, which shows the enormous enthusiasm of customers for this new offer. Another milestone is the increase of 39 percent to 633,000 connected vehicles in the fleet. This means Arval is well on its way to having 80 percent of its entire fleet connected by 2025.

Arval Austria: 12 percent fleet growth

Arval can also look back on a successful year in Austria. The vehicle fleet grew by 12 percent in 2023 to a total of 14,500 vehicles. With the introduction of its own retail department, SMEs and private customers have now also been able to rely on Arval’s operating leasing solutions since 2023. “Large customers and corporations usually need a partner who can provide them with intensive advice on the subject of mobility. SMEs and private customers, on the other hand, are usually more pragmatic: they need a mobility solution, and often quickly. By introducing our own retail department, we are meeting these demands.“, says Gregor Bilik, General Manager of Arval Austria. Also used car leasing Re-lease will be rolled out in Austria in 2024.

As a service provider, customer satisfaction plays a special role at Arval. The well-known “Net Promoter Score” method (NPS), which determines customers’ willingness to recommend a company, is a central element in measuring success at Arval. “Austria achieved an excellent NPS result of 43 in 2023. This not only underlines our own very high standards in terms of customer satisfaction, it is also one of the highest results in the region,” says Gregor Bilik.

Outlook for 2024

Arval wants to continue to drive forward the positive momentum of recent years in 2024. This is achieved primarily with committed and highly motivated employees who offer their customers the best possible service. The focus of Arval’s strategy is accelerating the electrification of fleets. The key to this goal is expanding the range of battery-powered electric vehicles, new partnerships for charging the vehicles and advising customers on the development of complementary mobility solutions that emit less CO2. In addition, to promote mobility in 2024, Arval was awarded a EcoVadis gold medal awarded, which puts the company in the top five percent of the companies evaluated. “This award reflects the commitment of Arval employees to work towards greater sustainability at all levels,” says Gregor Bilik, General Manager of Arval Austria.
