Strasbourg (ots) According to the Russian judiciary, government critic Alexei Navalny is dead. To mark the occasion, ARTE is showing the documentary “Becoming Navalny – Putin’s Public Enemy No. 1” by Igor Sadreev and Aleksandr Urzhanov on Saturday, February 17th at 3:55 p.m. on TV and from today online in the ARTE media library arte.tv.

Russian director Igor Sadreev has been secretly working on a film about Navalny for a long time. After Russia’s attack on Ukraine, he smuggled the extensive filming material out of the country and left Moscow. When he arrived in Berlin, he was able to finish the film together with his colleague, the journalist Aleksandr Urzhanov. “Becoming Navalny – Putin’s public enemy No. 1” is dedicated to the career and political goals of Alexei Navalny and examines the question of how Navalny became Putin’s fiercest opponent.
