Art project ‘A Decade Apart’ – 63 places. 10 years difference. Vienna’s heartbeat then & today.

Wienkunst.at – ‘A Decade Apart’. In 2015, filmmaker Alex Klim held Viennese city life in 63 iconic film recordings – staged Woody Allen opening scene like a playful. Ten years later, in August 2025, he returned to every single location and filmed from exactly the same perspective.

The result: a Artificial Vide Video As a breathtaking visual time capsulethe change and consistency of the city also shows at the same time. New roofs shape the skyline, shops have changed, cobblestones gave way to asphalt, the Viennese ferris wheel shines with new wagons.

And yet: cracks in the walls, the shape of old trees and the pulse of the city have remained. ‚A Decade Apart‘is also an artistic experiment and rare city portrait – a love letter to a Vienna in change.
