August 16, 2024 will be dedicated to exhibitions and concerts. From 11 a.m. there are art exhibitions throughout the town and from 7 p.m. you can listen to the sounds of the Oberton String Octet in the Landhaus Sonnleitner. The idea of an art and culture day came from small business owners who were extremely affected by the closure of the Plöcken Pass. Therefore, the exhibitions take place in and in front of business premises. Well-known artists come together under the direction of Markus Saueregger (stARTup gallery). The highlight will be Heidulf Gerngross. which is exhibited in several locations. For the first time in Carinthia his “Capella Tatami”, an early work that was created in Tokyo around 60 years ago. Others have agreed: Herta Hofer, Hans Peter Profunser, Roswitha Unterasinger, Walther Preiml, Edit Schmidt-Appelshoffer, among others. The main goal of this campaign is to showcase the creative diversity of the region.
