Countries now receive additional money. The focus must now be on optimizing the interaction of funding from the housing package, financial equalization and the Renewable Heat Act.

Salzburg/Vienna (OTS) – The housing package largely approved by the National Council on Wednesday includes one billion euros to promote non-profit housing. Depending on the population, the states receive additional funding for new construction (around 780 million euros) and renovation (around 220 million euros). For example, Vienna receives almost a quarter and Lower Austria almost a fifth of the billion in housing construction.

„The additional billion in funding that has now been approved is a very important stimulus for the housing market in Austria. This means that the states now have additional money to set specific priorities. Now it’s time to stop whining, we need to act quickly“, appeals to those responsible in the federal states, the federal chairman of ARGE Wohnungs, KommRat DI (BA) Christian Struber MBA. “It is now also very important to ensure that the funding from the approved housing package is optimally coordinated with the 1.1 billion euros from the financial equalization and the around 2.6 billion from the Renewable Heat Act (EEC).” , Christian Struber relies on constructive cooperation between the federal and state governments in order to improve the tense situation on the housing market and revive the construction industry.
