Linz (OTS) – The AK advocates free childcare from the age of 2. All year round, all day and with legal entitlement. When it comes to free education and therefore equal opportunities for all children, Upper Austria is still lagging behind. That’s why the AK Upper Austria supports families with a 150 euro AK care bonus. Parents still have one month to apply.
„It cannot be the case that kindergartens and playschools still charge fees in the afternoon. Every child is entitled to a free education. And from the beginning. This is the only way everyone has the same opportunities, regardless of their parents’ income
“, says AK President Andreas Stangl. A legal right to free childcare from the age of 2 must therefore be introduced urgently.
Don’t burden parents with additional costs
Compared to other European countries, inflation in Austria is still far too high. “Burdening parents with additional childcare costs is unacceptable
“, said the AK President. In order to support families, the Upper Austrian Chamber of Labor launched the AK care bonus last September. Parents can apply for a one-off payment of 150 euros if their child attends a playroom, kindergarten or childminder and costs are incurred.
