The 12 winemakers from the renowned Burgenland wineries invited people to the RWB annual presentation at Esterházy Eisenstadt Castle on May 23, 2024.
Goals (OTS) – More than 500 guests – specialists, wine lovers and friends of the RWB – accepted the invitation and tasted a large selection of the Burgenland wine group’s current vintages together with the winemakers in the wonderful ambience of the castle’s state rooms.
The Renowned Burgenland Wineries bring together wineries from all wine-growing regions in Burgenland. 12 winemakers who go their own way by rethinking and forethought, pioneering companies, ambassadors of Burgenland viticulture – committed to their origins, with a clear commitment to natural viticulture, diversity, craftsmanship and individuality. The RWB wineries produce wines with a distinctive style that carry the very own character of the soil, the variety and the people behind the wines. They are, so to speak, the essence of Burgenland’s diversity.
As part of the official reception, Mag. Herbert Oschep, Chairman of Wein Burgenland, and MP DI Nikolaus Berlakovich, President of the Burgenland Chamber of Agriculture, recognized the commitment and contribution of the renowned Burgenland wineries to the development of the Burgenland and Austrian wine industry.
Promoting the training of wine experts is an important concern for the renowned Burgenland wineries. A long-standing, fruitful collaboration connects the renowned Burgenland wineries with the Austrian Wine Academy. Numerous international students from the WSET study courses were able to get an impression of Burgenland’s wine diversity at the highest level at the RWB annual presentation. In line with this objective, a scholarship of EUR 1,000.00 is awarded annually to an international student of the world’s most renowned wine training course, the “WSET Diploma in Wines and Spirits” at the Austrian Wine Academy – sponsored by the Raiffeisenlandesbank Burgenland. As part of the annual presentation, RWB President Kurt Feiler, together with Dr. Josef Schuller MW, Managing Director of the Austrian Wine Academy, and Board Director of Raiffeisenlandesbank Burgenland Mag. Rudolf Suttner awarded the scholarship to this year’s scholarship holder Maryna Revkova from Ukraine.
Celebrate and enjoy together, but don’t forget about those who are having a hard time and need support. Every year, the Burgenland Winegrowers Association selects a social initiative in Burgenland that will benefit from the proceeds from the RWB annual presentation. There are many projects and social institutions in Burgenland that do great work. This year, the total proceeds from this year’s annual presentation will benefit the MOKI Burgenland – Mobile Children’s Nursing Association. The renowned Burgenland wineries hope to be able to make a small contribution.

In the evening, with chilled jazz sounds, a selection of wines from the renowned Burgenland wineries could be enjoyed in large bottles on the terrace of the Selection Vinothek Burgenland.
