St.Pölten (OTS) Yesterday, Tuesday evening, the anniversary “30 Years of the Lower Austria Theater Festival” was celebrated and at the same time the program for the 2024 season was presented. Chairwoman Kristina Sprenger, directors, artists as well as numerous guests and guests of honor from art, culture and business, including state governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner, looked back on three successful decades together in the Vienna Palais Lower Austria.

Mikl-Leitner wished the Lower Austria Theater Festival, which was attended by around 200,000 people last year, “another 30 years of success” and that it succeeds in continuing to inspire people. In the future, the focus on children should be further strengthened, said the state governor, because “children need art and culture.”

Mikl-Leitner said she would visit “as many venues as possible” and ended the evening “to say thank you, because the members of our Lower Austria theater family are the best ambassadors for art and culture in Lower Austria.”

Kristina Sprenger, director in Berndorf for ten years and chairwoman of the Lower Austria Theater Festival for three years, said: “Felix Dvorak, Jürgen Wilke and Elfriede Ott really demonstrated foresight 30 years ago by founding the ‘Association of the Association of Directors of the Lower Austria Theater Summer’ laid the foundation for the success story of the Lower Austria Theater Festival.” She was pleased to have gained a 20th venue this year, Sitzenberg Castle, and emphasized: “Diversity, quality and magic are what define the Lower Austria Theater Festival.”
