Vienna (OTS) A long ski festival in great weather with the same ratings: A total of 3.837 million sports fans were there live at the Hahnenkamm weekend via ORF 1 (widest circle of viewers), which is 51 percent of the local TV population aged 12 and over. The top value was achieved by the descent on January 20, 2024 with up to 1.365 million and an average of 1.229 million ski fans with a 75 percent market share (71 and 84 percent in the young target groups). By the way, 75 percent market share is the best since 2013.

The exciting second slalom run on January 21st reached up to 1.245 million with an average of 1.129 million and 70 percent market share (64 and 91 percent MA in the young target groups). Here too, with a market share of 70 percent, a record – since 2019 – was achieved. The first departure on January 19th saw up to 961,000 with a 65 percent market share. The Kitzbühel supporting program on ORF 1 also achieved top ratings: an average of 369,000 watched “The Silent Heroes of the Streif” on January 17th, 386,000 watched “Sport am Sonntag Spezial” with a sporting review of Kitzbühel on January 21st, and 307,000 the social review “Kitz & Glamour” and 330,000 afterwards the historical reappraisal “Mythos Kitzbühel”.

The night race in ORF Steiermark

ORF Steiermark is dedicated to the two top sporting events with a detailed tri-media program and provides comprehensive and exciting pre-, race and post-reporting on the legendary night race and the second night giant slalom on the Planai. A special highlight is the ORF Styria stage in the Schladming World Cup Mile, which offers a great atmosphere and attractive entertainment from January 22nd to 24th – including live radio broadcasts, concerts and DJ Erich Fuchs.

January 24:
ORF Steiermark will continue its focus on the World Cup races in Schladming on January 24th. Radio Steiermark brings, among other things, a review of the night giant slalom and provides information about the final preparations for the 27th Night Race in Schladming. From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Radio Steiermark will once again broadcast a two-hour special live from the ORF Steiermark stage in Schladming – guests include “Matakustix”, the moderator is Thomas Seidl. The second part of the night race “Extra” is on the Radio Steiermark program from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., with Sigrid Hroch leading the show. With the start of the first round the race reporting also starts, Florian Prates comments on the night slalom live on Radio Steiermark.
“Styria today” (7 p.m., ORF 2 St) shows the most beautiful pictures, highlights of the day and a look back at the events of the previous evening on the night race racing day, January 24th – there is also a live entry after the first round of the Night slaloms: Reporter Robert Neukirchner provides information about the news on the Planai and provides an analysis of the first part of the race.
