Call for more mindfulness in nature
Since 2009, the “Clean Mountains” initiative has ensured that dispensers for environmentally friendly waste bags are installed in Alpine club huts across the country, which can be used free of charge by all hikers and mountaineers. But that’s not the case: fruit residues take up to seven years to be used by nature and are dangerous for many animals.

Garbage must not remain on the mountain
Every individual can do their part to keep Austria’s mountains clean and free of rubbish. “The Alpine Club and we want to make collecting rubbish as easy as possible for hikers. They should take their rubbish with them as they descend into the valley and dispose of it properly
