All attention, Villach! That was the Antenne Kärnten pop-up studio

All attention, Villach! That was the Antenne Kärnten pop-up studio

From September 16th to 22nd, 2024, the Lower Church Square in Draustadt was transformed into a hands-on radio studio. Under the motto “Listening in” Antenne Kärnten offered the best entertainment and gripping stories for a week – very close to the listeners on site.

Together with the city of Villach and city marketing, an open space in a prominent location on Weißbriachgasse was used for a week to focus on the topic of free-standing shops and unused commercial space. This initiative succeeded in creating visibility in a creative way while strengthening the local community.

A complete success: Experience Antenne Kärnten up close

The response to the campaign was overwhelming. Numerous listeners took the opportunity to experience Antenne Kärnten and the team live and up close. “It’s fantastic to see how many people actually came to visit us on site,” says Gottfried Bichler, Managing Director of Antenne Kärnten. “Our team is passionate about supporting Carinthians throughout the day in the best possible way – be it with their favorite hits, entertaining content and fast, reliable service. This campaign has once again shown that Antenne Kärnten is a radio with a heart from Carinthians for all Carinthians. You could really feel that in Villach and hear it all over Carinthia.”

Not only did the opportunity to be part of the radio broadcast attract many people, but the special highlights of the week also served as a crowd puller. On Wednesday, fans were able to secure memories for eternity at an exclusive autograph session with the VSV ice hockey players: shared photos that were then signed.

The exclusive live concert with the band finally took place on Friday All respect took place, which attracted numerous listeners to an unforgettable musical conclusion – and all with free admission.

Pop-up studio as a yellow hotspot and communicative platform

Program manager and authorized representative Timm Bodner explains how the campaign came about: “Our goal was to enliven the open space in downtown Villach and create a meeting place for people who want to share their stories about the Draustadt. We also wanted to show how open spaces can be enlivened and used within a very short time in order to achieve something for the city center.” Creatively, as we know from Antenne Kärnten, they hired the Carinthian graffiti artist Grime, for example, to create parts of the To design pop-up studios and not only brought acoustic color to the city center.

The concept worked. The pop-up studio acted as a yellow hotspot for exciting conversations and interviews. Listeners, school classes and numerous guests were there. Villach’s mayor Günther Albel kicked off the week by emphasizing the importance of such an action: “Antenna Carinthia will make our city even more colorful and loud. Welcome to the yellow and black south of Carinthia!”

Pierre Bechler, Managing Director of Villach City Marketing, was also enthusiastic: “It was exciting not only to hear Antenne Kärnten, but also to see it. We invited everyone to come by, take a look and feel the special atmosphere. Together with Antenne Kärnten we have implemented something big and are proud of the success of this campaign.”

“In our years-long partnership with the city of Villach, we have managed another great campaign with the pop-up studio. Thank you to everyone involved and listeners who were there,” concluded Gottfried Bichler.
