Vienna (OTS) – The AK Vienna election in 2024 has been defeated. The preliminary result in Vienna: The Team FSG faction with its top candidate Renate Anderl achieved 57.5 percent – and was therefore the clear election winner. The faction of Christian trade unionists comes to 6.9 percent. The Freedom Workers – FPÖ (FA-FPÖ) list received 8.4 percent of the votes. A total of 16 lists will be represented in the workers’ parliament (in the general assembly of the AK Vienna) in the future – i.e. all lists that took part in the AK Vienna election in 2024. The postal votes still received will be included in the final election results, which will be announced on Saturday, April 27th.
769,466 employees were eligible to vote. According to an projection, voter turnout will probably be 40.0 percent after all votes have been received (after 42.3 percent in 2019). Postal votes postmarked April 23, 2024 can be received until Friday, April 26, 2024. The final election results will be announced on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at around 2 p.m. and immediately after the decision of the Main Election Commission wien.arbeiterkammer.at/wahl published.
The 16 candidate lists included:
Renate Anderl – Team FSG (FSG): 57.5 percent or 108 mandates (compared to 2019: minus 3.2 percentage points or minus 5 mandates).
Fraction of Christian Trade Unionists – Austrian Employees in the Chamber for Workers and Employees for Vienna (FCG-ÖAAB Vienna) (FCG-ÖAAB): 6.9 percent or 12 mandates (compared to 2019: minus 2.9 percentage points or minus 6 mandates).
Freedom Workers – FPÖ (FA-FPÖ): 8.4 percent or 15 mandates (compared to 2019: minus 0.6 percentage points or minus 1 mandate).
TOGETHER – Alternative, Independent and Green Trade Unionists (GEGEINSAM AUGE/UG): 5.0 percent or 9 mandates (compared to 2019: minus 3.1 percentage points or minus 6 mandates).
GREEN employees in the AK Vienna (GA): 5.1 percent or 9 mandates (compared to 2019: plus 1.9 percentage points or plus 4 mandates).
HAK IŞ – List Perspective LP – Fatih Vural (LP): 2.1 percent or 3 mandates (compared to 2019: plus 0.2 percentage points, plus/minus 0 mandates).
FAIR AND TRANSPARENT (FAIR): 1.7 percent or 3 mandates (compared to 2019: plus 0.2 percentage points or plus 1 mandate).
ARGE – Association of Independent Workers (ARGE): 1.1 percent or 2 mandates (compared to 2019: minus 0.4 percentage points or plus/minus 0 mandates).
Trade union left bloc (communists, socialists, non-party members) – GLB (GLB): 1.5 percent or 2 mandates (compared to 2019: plus 0.2 percentage points or plus/minus 0 mandates).
List Melek Köse TÜRK-IŞ (TÜRK-IŞ): 0.9 percent or 1 mandate (compared to 2019: minus 0.2 percentage points or minus 1 mandate).
International Communist Trade Union Initiative – List Selma Schacht (KOMintern) (KOMintern): 1.7 percent or 3 mandates (compared to 2019: plus 0.7 percentage points or plus 2 mandates).
Colorful Democracy for All (BDFA): 0.6 percent or 1 mandate (compared to 2019: plus/minus 0.0 percentage points or plus/minus 0 mandates).
PFG – Your Non-Party Interest Group (PFG): 1.0 percent or 1 mandate (did not run in 2019).
LINKS Vienna (LINKS): 2.4 percent or 4 seats (did not run in 2019).
The New Austria and Liberal Forum, Liberal Workers (NEOS LiA): 2.7 percent or 5 mandates (did not run in 2019).
Employees support the team (MUT): 1.4 percent or 2 mandates (did not run for office in 2019).
