AK Price Monitor 2: Cheap drugstore goods become cheaper, more expensive branded products become more expensive!

The prices of the cheapest drugstore goods have fallen year-on-year in June, and the already more expensive branded drugstore goods and branded food now cost more again. This is shown by a current AK price monitor from June in online shops and three branches of a total of five drugstores and supermarkets.

The cheapest drugstore goods cost an average of 15.5 percent less in the online shops of Bipa, DM and Müller in June compared to the previous year. Prices in stores have fallen by an average of one percent.

Between June 2023 and June 2024, branded drugstore goods became on average 2.9 percent more expensive in the online shops surveyed by Bipa, DM, Müller, Billa and Interspar. The prices of branded food have now risen by 4.9 percent via the Billa and Interspar online shops.

The AK Vienna collected the prices of 31 cheapest weekly drugstore products from June 11th to 13th in three branches of Bipa, DM and Müller and from June 18th to 20th in their online shops. The AK also checked 31 branded food products in the Billa and Interspar online shops on June 24th and the prices of 99 branded drugstore goods in the Billa, Interspar, Bipa, DM and Müller online shops from June 25th to 26th.
