Muchitsch: Employees choose fair working conditions and respect – fierce resistance to longer working hours without pay
Vienna (OTS) – After Salzburg, Upper Austria and Carinthia, the Group of Social Democratic Trade Unionists (FSG) is now also the clear number 1 in the Chamber of Labor elections in Burgenland according to the preliminary result with 68.8 percent despite a slight minus.
“We congratulate AK President Gerhard Michalitsch and his team on their great election success in Burgenland,” says Josef Muchitsch, federal chairman of the FSG.
On the occasion of the current debate about longer working hours, Muchitsch once again makes it clear: “We social democratic trade unionists will never have longer working hours without pay.” The “wage theft by law”, as the industrial association is planning with its friends in the ÖVP and FPÖ, “We will put up our strongest resistance,” announces the FSG chairman.
“Each coalition between the ÖVP and FPÖ has so far only brought about deterioration for employees, for example in terms of working hours, medical care, women’s policy or pensions,” reminds Muchitsch. And nothing will change: “ÖVP and FPÖ have always broken their election promises and deceived people,” warns the FSG chairman. “Only the FSG stands for more justice, fair working conditions and social security!”
