Zeltweg / Vienna (OTS) – In a month, specifically on September 6th and 7th, 2024, AIRPOWER24, Europe’s largest air show, will take off at Zeltweg Air Base. It will consist of a performance show on the ground, demonstrations by the Austrian Air Force and international military aerobatic teams and participants from the field of civil aviation, especially the Flying Bulls, as well as a static show by civilian exhibitors from the areas of the aviation industry, research and teaching and an extensive supporting event Airfield grounds including the military aviation museum exist. Admission to AIRPOWER24 is free. AIRPOWER24 is an event for the whole family and also offers a variety of entertainment for children: A separate children’s area is available on both event days from 7.30 a.m. until the end of the event. In addition, after the end of flight operations, there will also be programs until 7:00 p.m., such as a movie screening (Top Gun: Maverick), a “Meet the Pilots Corner” or military music performances at the event site.
“This year, AIRPOWER24 will offer a program of unprecedented depth with numerous highlights and premieres. According to current planning, a total of 206 aircraft from over 20 nations will be on display at AIRPOWER24. The Austrian Armed Forces will be present at AIRPOWER24 with over 40 aircraft, and The Flying Bulls with 37 aircraft. Visitors to AIRPOWER24 will be able to get a first-hand impression of what our air force is capable of. And what new aircraft we will get in the next few years!” explains Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner. For example, flight demonstrations of possible successors to the Saab 105, which are currently being procured by the Austrian Armed Forces as part of the 2032 development plan, as well as the new multi-purpose helicopter AW-169 “LION” will be shown in a flying display for the first time.
The highlights will include numerous flying displays, including an interception demonstration with two Eurofighters and a C-130 from the Austrian Air Force, a flying display from a German A-400M, two solo displays from Eurofighters and an F-16 and F-18 be. For the first time, a solo display of an American F-35A from the US Air Force’s F-35 Lightning II demonstration team, flown by display pilot Captain Melanie “Mach” Kluesner, will also be on display in Austria. Also new will be a solo display of an S-70 Black Hawk from the Austrian Air Force with flare use. Other jet and propeller training aircraft will be on display, including the T346 (Italy), L39NG (Czech Republic) and PC-9M (Slovenia).

Accreditation for media representatives is already available https://www.airpower.gv.at/medien/ possible. Attention: For administrative reasons, accreditation for AIRPOWER24 is only possible until September 4, 2024; subsequent accreditation on site is not possible on the days of the event. There is a dedicated media center on the event site for accredited media representatives with Wi-Fi workstations, catering, ongoing media appointments and background discussions, as well as a clear view of the flight line. Entry to the media center is only possible with confirmed accreditation.
