On the occasion of the third anniversary of the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the aid organization is sending a strong sign of solidarity and support internationally. With the opening of two other helps in the Charkiw and Dnipropetrovsk regions, the Austrian aid organization intensifies its humanitarian aid for the Ukrainian civilian population. The new Help Points in Zlatopil and Marhanets were realized with financial support from the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Nursing and Consumer Protection and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA).
The openings took place in the presence of the Austrian ambassador to Ukraine, Arad Benkö, and the Austrian Social Attaché Martin Mühlbacher. Both emphasized the importance of international cooperation and the important role of Austria in humanitarian aid.
Low -threshold support in times of crisis
The new Help Points stand for rapid and unbureaucratic help on site. They offer urgently needed psychosocial care by trained staff and advice for particularly vulnerable population groups. Children and adolescents receive a safe retreat in the specially furnished children’s rooms in order to be able to play and learn despite the war.

Sustainability in humanitarian aid
In total, the aid organization is now operating five Help Points at the following locations: Iwano-Frankiwsk (in the west of Ukraine, with a focus on support for inland refugees), as well as four more in the east or north of the country: two in the Charkiw Oblast and two in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Humanitarian aid from Austria: a record of the past three years
Since the beginning of the war in February 2022, the aid organization International has already reached around 700,000 people in Ukraine with the support from Austria. The most important milestones of humanitarian aid include:
- 40,000 refugee women and children Were food after the start of the war in the western parts of Ukraine, warm meals and winter packages.
- In the Iwano-Frankiwsk children’s hospital, 50,000 sick and injured children treated with medication and medical devices.
