After a hard but constructive 13-hour negotiating round, Wednesday, an agreement on a new collective agreement for the chemical industry could be reached. Ernst Gruber, employer negotiation manager in the specialist association of the chemical industry in Austria (FCIO), states: “Against the background of the continuing economic crisis, the search for a common solution was particularly challenging this year. Today we showed that with a lived social partnership in difficult times, sustainable compromises for the business location can be concluded. 2.02 percent is still economically portable for companies in the industry and, due to social grading for employees, means a still fair remuneration. ”
For decades, the chemical industry has been one of the best -paid jobs for its around 50,000 employees and is one of the frontrunners for allowances and surcharges.
The key data of the current collective agreement are formed as follows:
-
Wages and salaries in the chemical industry are increased by 2.65 percent, at least 80 euros, but a maximum of 113 euros. In the high usage groups V, VA and VI, a uniform fixed amount of 60 euros is increased.
-
The apprenticeship income increases by 2.65 percent.
-
The new collective agreement for the chemical industry of Austria applies from 1.5.2025.
