AGCO launches PTx, a precision agriculture portfolio to accelerate technology transformation

Duluth, Ga. (ots/PRNewswire) New leading brand combines precision technologies from Precision Planting and PTx Trimble

AGCO Corporation (NYSE: AGCO), a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural machinery and precision ag technology, today announced the launch of PTx, a new brand for its Precision Ag portfolio. PTx combines precision agricultural technologies from the cornerstones of AGCO’s technology spectrum: Precision Planting and its newest joint venture (JV), PTx Trimble.

The strategic alignment of these brands will facilitate the rapid growth of AGCO’s technological transformation and support the future development and distribution of next-generation agricultural technologies for farmers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

PTx will serve farmers around the world through three go-to-market concepts. Specialized precision agriculture dealers help farmers retrofit almost all brands and vintages of equipment they already own with the latest technologies. PTx will also expand its relationships with more than 100 OEM partners who can integrate products from the PTx portfolio directly in the factory. The new machines from the leading AGCO brands Fendt, Massey Ferguson and Valtra will also be factory-equipped with the technology from the PTx portfolio.

Seth Crawford, Senior Vice President and General Manager PTx, will lead the new organization as an industry-leading, cross-fleet precision agriculture platform serving farmers around the world.

“We believe technology should give farmers the flexibility to work with different brands and across the entire crop cycle,” said Crawford. “The PTx portfolio offerings within Precision Planting and PTx Trimble make us seamless Providing compatible, powerful and simple solutions for precision farming. We know that farming is easier when the platforms communicate with each other – and when those systems are developed and supported by experts who understand farmers. That’s what PTx offers our customers promises around the world.”

The PTx name is rooted in AGCO’s heritage of precision agriculture (P) and advanced technologies (T), which multiply farmer impact (x) through seamless, intelligent, farmer-focused technologies.

The symbol represents the precise rows and fields in agriculture and tells a story of global connection. To present a unified offering to the market, Precision Planting’s visual identity will evolve as part of the new PTx brand portfolio, retaining the brand’s iconic corn plant as a nod to its rich heritage. PTx Trimble’s visual identity reflects that of the leading PTx brand.

AGCO completed the joint venture transaction with Trimble on April 1, 2024 to found PTx Trimble. Andrew Sunderman has been named general manager of PTx Trimble. Sunderman’s 12 years of experience in various global AGCO roles, including most recently as head of the JV integration team, qualifies him to lead this business area.

“Farmers rely on precision agricultural technologies to increase yields, reduce waste and maximize their resources,” said Sunderman. “The launch of PTx and the formation of the PTx Trimble JV allow us to further support farmers, by offering them retrofit and factory fit solutions to achieve their financial and operational goals.”

Keith Crow will continue to lead Precision Planting as General Manager.

PTx joins AGCO’s leading global brand portfolio, which also includes Fendt, Massey Ferguson, GSI and Valtra. For more information about PTx, see www.ptxag.com.
