Shortly before the World Cat Day on August 8, the location at the Pfotenhilfe Tierschutzhof is once again at the border region of Upper Austria/Salzburg. Apart from numerous find cats and several cats of cats that currently have to be raised with the Flascherl, a completely helpless kitten in Eferding (Upper Austria) has now been found. It was just open and was wrapped in a tea towel with a pizzeria. This is exactly where two similarly young -abandoned babies were found there in 2023! “We showed the case without success at the time. Someone must consistently ignore the castration obligation and unscrupulously get rid of the descendants unscrupulously,” Pfotenhilfe Managing Director Johanna Stadler is outraged. “Someone from the environment has to notice that if there are always illegally increased cats, some of which apparently also die, because a throw usually includes more than just one or two kittens!”
On the occasion of the World Cat Day, the Pfotenhilfe once again points out that the castration obligation must not only be observed for ethical and moral reasons, but can also result in violations of up to 7,500 euros in the event of a repeat. “In addition, we are calling for a chip and registration obligation as in dogs so that the animals that have been exposed and perpetrators can be identified. The excessive cat increases and the incredible suffering must finally be contained!”, Stadler concludes.
