As in previous years, the recording tests were held at several locations across Austria. Content of the Medat-H and Medat-Z
The recording test for human medicine (Medat-H) is a multi-part, written procedure and is divided into the following sections:

Basic knowledge of Medical studies: review of school prior knowledge from the areas of biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics.
· Text understanding: review of reading skills and understanding of texts.
· Cognitive skills and skills: This test section consists of five tasks (composition, sequences, word fluid, memory and memory as well as implications) and records cognitive basic skills and skills.
· Social-emotional skills: This test part consists of the tasks of recognizing emotions, regulating emotions and deciding social issues that capture essential aspects of socio-emotional skills.

The reception test for dentistry (Medat-Z) is largely identical to the MedAT-H. Instead of the test part of the Text Understanding and the Task Group Implications, the manual skills tested are used in the test section.

A total of 1,900 study places
For the studies 2025/26, a total of 1,900 study places are available for the studies of human and dentistry, 772 at the Medical University of Vienna, 420 at the Medical University of Innsbruck, 388 at the Medical University of Graz and 320 at the medical faculty of the JKU Linz (in Linz only human medicine). At least 95 percent of the study places are EU citizens: reserved for people and with regard to the study of equalized people and at least 75 percent of the study places with a mature product from Austria. However, this contingent regulation only applies to the allocation of study places in human medicine. In the academic year 2025/26, up to 85 human medicine places of the 1,900 medical study places are dedicated to tasks in the public interest for federal states, the Austrian Health Insurance Fund, the Federal Ministerials for Interior and national defense. Study advertisers: Inside who have applied for such a place of study, the regular registration for the desired location must take part and undertake in the context of an agreement with the respective institution to actually provide the tasks in the public interest. To achieve these study places, a minimum performance at the admission test must be achieved. More details can also be called up at www.medizinstudieren.at.
