Additional study places for social work at the FH Campus Vienna are necessary

Vienna (OTS) – The FH Campus Vienna has received additional capacity for 2025/26 as part of the expansion of university of applied sciences study places. The part-time bachelor’s degree in social work will be expanded by 30 places, and 10 places will go to the master’s degree in child and family-centered social work.

„The Austria-wide increase in study places is an important step in the right direction and shows that the ministry is aware of the urgent need for well-trained specialists in social work. However, in view of the many and increasingly complex challenges in social work, more training positions are needed, especially in the metropolitan area of ​​ViennaElisabeth Steiner, head of the social work department at the FH Campus Vienna, is convinced.

Sandra Frauenberger, managing director of the umbrella organization of Viennese social institutions, comments: “Additional study places for social work are a decisive step towards the committed specialists that our society urgently needs. Each and every individual who takes this path contributes to strengthening our social network. Your future work will mean concrete support and new opportunities for many. The FH Campus Vienna will continue to work towards expanding training opportunities in order to be able to meet the increasing demands and needs of society.

With over 8,000 students at three locations and five cooperation locations, the FH Campus Vienna is the largest university of applied sciences in Austria. In the departments of Applied Nursing Science, Applied Life Sciences, Building and Design, Health Sciences, Social Affairs, Technology as well as Administration, Economics, Security and Politics, there are almost 70 degree programs and university courses to choose from in part-time and full-time form. Application-related research and development is bundled in ten subject-specific research centers.
