Vienna (OTS) – Incident time: January 13, 2024, 4:30 p.m

In a press release from the Vienna State Police Directorate on January 15, 2024, the discovery of human remains in the Marchfeld Canal and the associated extensive investigations and search measures were reported. A preliminary forensic report showed that it was probably a homicide. Using DNA analysis, the identity of the dead man, which had previously been unclear, could now be determined. The male body is a 45-year-old man. This has been missing since November 15, 2023.
The Vienna State Criminal Police Office continues to investigate at full speed. The exact circumstances that led to the 45-year-old’s death are the subject of ongoing investigations.
