Sankt Pölten (OTS) – The EU elections took place this Sunday. The People’s Party has to accept the loss of first place, but according to the current trend forecast it is still in the race for second place. “We of course take note of the voters’ decision and thank everyone who voted for the People’s Party for their trust. The starting point for this election was completely different than it was five years ago. At that time there was no health crisis, no war in Europe and no inflation,” said Matthias Zauner, regional manager of the People’s Party of Lower Austria, in an initial reaction and added: “The polls before the election saw the ÖVP in third place – but we still do Fighting for second place nationwide and having two experienced Lower Austrian members of parliament, Alexander Bernhuber and Lukas Mandl, enter the EU Parliament is once again encouraging that the Lower Austrian People’s Party has a mobilization power like no other party organization. that the People’s Party will remain the clear number 1 in Lower Austria and will make a significant contribution to the overall results of the ÖVP at the federal level.”
MEP Alexander Bernhuber emphasizes: “A Europe that works must focus on people’s needs and offer pragmatic solutions to the challenges of our time.
