The initiative is part of the award -winning campaign “Right against Right” by Laut against Nazis EV and the Jung von Matt advertising agency
Together with Jung von Matt, the club had the name of the largest right-wing extremist online shop in Germany, “Druck 18”, registered as a brand. Druck18 is considered Germany’s largest Nazi merchandise shop and is operated by the neo-Nazi Tommy Frenck, which is considered one of the central figures of the right-wing extremist scene. Its online shop offers hundreds of articles with racist, anti-Semitic and historically revisionist content.
“With the brand entry of individual codes, we have already proven that we meet Nazis where it hurts them the most: in their wallet. With ‘Druck18’ we go one step further,” says Jörn Menge, founder of sound against Nazis eV “to keep the rights to print18 and all of our already secured codes, we have to sell merchandise articles with these codes. www.druck18.com“
As part of the “Right against Right” campaign, the association had the name of the online shop “Druck18” registered as a brand to prevent the commercial use of the name from the right-wing extremist scene. The operator may no longer continue the shop under this name. Another use has legal consequences, including injunctive relief and claims for damages.
Philip Schlagger, a former neo -Nazi, welcomes this step. He himself ran a right-wing extremist online shop and knows the scene from the inside: “The majority of the scene is financed by merchandising, and Druck18 is the figurehead. Those who bothers this not only take money, but also reach and identify. This initiative really hits the mark.”
