In the Kunstforum Vienna, essential decisions about the future of the house and the exhibition company planned from autumn 2025 have recently been made. Despite intensive efforts, no new main sponsor could be found against the background of the challenging overall economic situation. It is therefore no longer possible to continue the company at the location at Wiener Freyung. At the end of 2025, Unicredit Bank Austria, as already announced, hired its commitment as a museum operator.
In order to implement the Marina-Abramović show of the Vienna Art Forum planned for autumn, Unicredit Bank Austria has now managed to find a suitable partner for the project: In the sense of cooperative cooperation between the Viennese cultural institutions, Albertina was ready to add the exhibition as a cooperation project at short notice. The exhibition will take place in the Albertina Modern, the planned large autumn exhibition on “Kaws. Art and Comic” was postponed to the next year.
