A1 Group despite challenging framework conditions with a robust first quarter
Vienna (OTS) –

  • Sales growth of 3.7%, both service and device revenues increase
  • EBITDA is growing by 8.1% before restructuring
  • Growth of the mobile phone customer: 8.4% inside
  • Foundation of a Competence Delivery Center for Digital B2B services in Austria
  • Start of landline broadband services on your own fiber optic infrastructure in Serbia

Alejandro Plater, CEO of the A1 Group, about the highlights of the first quarter of 2024:

“Despite a challenging macroeconomic and market environment, we were able to start with a solid performance in 2025. The growth of sales in the first quarter was 3.7%, supported by higher service and device sales.

In order to further accelerate growth in the B2B Digital Services area, we have established a Competence Delivery Center by bundle our resources and our international know-how.

For 2025 we can confirm our forecast of sales growth of 2 to 3%. In order to achieve this and to remain relevant for our customers: we continue to anticipate consumer and technology trends.

Capex will probably amount to around EUR 800 million (before that around EUR 850 million). Another highlight is the start of broadband services on the fiber optic infrastructure in Serbia taken over in 2023. ”

Thomas Arnoldner, Deputy CEO of the A1 Group, added:

“EBITDA before restructuring rose by 8.1%, based on a solid development of service sales and a persistent focus on improving operational efficiency. The Free Cashflow is over 150 million euros.

Service sales have increased in all markets except for Austria. The results benefit from the solid demand for high-speed broadband, B2B digital services and TV products, supported by valuable measures.

We have continued our efforts for competitive sustainability. A strong focus is still on the transformation of the company towards sustainability. The A1 Group’s sustainability declaration was published for the first time according to the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). Some highlights from it: We carried out more than 171,000 digital competence training in 2024, implemented the Climate Transition plan (confirmed by SBTI) and reach a further reduction in the entire greenhouse gas emissions by 15%.
