From May 16 to July 20, 2025, the cultural networking of Lower Austria invites you to a cultural and artistic journey of discovery through the Mostviertel as part of the quarter festival. A total of 48 art and cultural projects are on the program and, in addition to music, visual arts, dance, photography or performance, also offer various forms of participatory projects according to the festival motto “Dei ‘culture, be” culture … a lot of culture “!
The quarter festival plays a very special role in the round of festivals in Lower Austria. The festival is neither committed to a genre nor is it bound to certain places. For the 2025 festival, too, the program was not curated by an artistic direction, but was selected by a jury in a democratic process from over 150 project submissions. This year the festival also reflects the diversity and width of the regional culture. Tradition and history have their place here as well as the encounter with new, supposedly stranger and at first glance differently.
“The regional culture comes up with a meaning like never before. It reflects our values, our identity and our traditions. Formats such as the quarter festival are highlights that shine far beyond the borders of Lower Austria. Culture is noticeable here and feelings, it brings people together and gives them support and orientation,” said the Lower Austrian Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner.
So if you want to gain an insight into the regional art and cultural work away from popular clichés of “typical” rural culture, you can go on an exciting journey of discovery as part of the quarter festival between Türnitz and Traismauer and between Eichgraben and St. Valentin. There is brass music and electronics, there are festivals and controversial topics are negotiated, there are films to see and discover artistic and cultural approaches, historical sites are played and new places are being used, the story is researched and a look at the future, there is both inclusion as well as exclusivity, and in many places it is played together and played together. The program is embedded between two large concert events. At the opening on May 16, in Amstetten with Sigrid Horn, Lou Asril, Tini Tramler, Gravögl, Sarahbernhard or the third hand, well-known Mostviertler Singer-Songwriters are entering the stage together, and at the end on July 20, the squeezing work Family and Da Blechhauf’n will perform their concert program in Haag for the festival.
The festival motto “dei ‘culture, be’ culture, her culture … a lot of culture” has set up and sung Sigrid Horn and will be heard and can be heard in connection with the various projects in the new media in the next few weeks.
