The life of the Hungarian general János Hunyadi in the medieval Europe of the 15th century, his warlike arguments with the Ottoman army, the intrigue at the courtyard and his great loved ones caused a high level of interest in the ORF audience: a total of 2.41 million additives: that is 32 percent of the local TV population from the age of twelve (farest visual group), saw the ten-part, international Large production “Hunyadi-Rise to Power”, which was accompanied by the new ORF documentary “Hunyadi-The Sharing of the Middle Ages” at the start (on April 21, 2025). Most of the episodes 1 with up to 491,000 spectators and a market share of 17 percent (12+) or 20 and 26 percent were among the young audience (12–49 and 12–29).
And online too, “Hunyadi-Rising to Power” is a success of the public: The ORF video streams of the series have so far achieved a total of around 460,000 net views, 995,000 grossy and a total usage volume of 30.7 million minutes as well as an average range of around 58,000 per episode (Live and on Demand, in Austria: Online moving image measurement measurement AGTTT/GfK Teletest Zensus). So “Hunyadi-ascent to Power” is already one of the Mätabel-called ORF series in the stream.
The ten episodes of the image-powerful series event, which were made, among other things, under the direction of Robert Dornhelm with the Austrians Laurence Rupp, Cornelius Obonya and Murathan Muslu in Budapest, were on the program in double episodes from April 21st on the ORF-1 premiere Monday, were also available in the stream and can still be seen on ORF ON.
“Hunyadi – ascent to power” is a co -production by Serendipity Point Films, Twin Media, HG Media, MR Film and Beta Film as well as ORF and the Hungarian TV station TV2 with the support of the National Filmstitut in Hungary.
