A total of 1.533 million took to the ski slopes with the young talents of the “School of Champions”.

ORF series most used online to date – filming for the second season is already underway; TV launch of the “Beasts” on February 19th on ORF 1

Vienna (OTS) Best time for the next generation of ski aces! The young top athletes of the “School of Champions” have a total of 1.533 million viewers and therefore 20 percent of the Austrian TV population aged twelve and over (widest circle of viewers) on the ORF 1 series Monday from January 22nd to February 12th, 2024 , each at 8:15 p.m. in double episodes, accompany you in the first steps towards fulfilling your big dream – including sporting and interpersonal challenges. With up to 615,000 and an average of 576,000 viewers and market shares of 19 percent (12+) and 27 percent each in the young target groups 12-29 and 12-49, the opening episode was used the most. On average, the eight episodes of the first season of the new ORF series were watched by 474,000 viewers with market shares of 17 (12+) or 29 (12-29) and 24 percent (12-49). The first season was particularly popular with young audiences, as shown by the top market share of 35 percent for ages 12-29 at the finale on February 12th.

And the ORF streams of “School of Champions” have also been used intensively since the premiere on January 22nd: According to online moving image measurement (AGTT/GfK TELETEST census), the live streams and videos on demand of the entire first achieved Season in Austria so far has a total of 352,000 net views (related usage processes) and 603,000 gross views (video starts). In total, the total usage volume was 15.5 million minutes. An average reach of around 43,000 has been achieved per episode so far (live and on demand; for yesterday’s two final episodes, in addition to live usage, only yesterday’s VoD usage is included). Excluding yesterday’s final episodes, the average reach per episode is around 51,000, making “School of Champions” the most watched ORF series to date. The entire first season of “School of Champions” is available to stream on ORF ON and in the TVthek app.

Preparations for the second ski season are underway

The first year in the “School of Champions” has been completed on TV, but behind the scenes there is no time for après-ski. The young top athletes have been taking the downhill squat during filming for the second season of the ORF series since the end of November 2023. The motto: Even more speed, even more action and even more drama. The second season of “School of Champions” is expected to be shown on ORF 1 in 2025.

The first season of “School of Champions” is a production by Superfilm in co-production with Catpics for ORF, BR and SRF, made with the support of Fernsehenfonds Austria and the state of Salzburg.

“Biester” from February 19th on ORF 1

The ORF 1 series Monday continues with the next highlight: from February 19th at 8:15 p.m., the worlds of the “beasts” – two sisters from a wealthy family and two friends from modest backgrounds – collide in double episodes. The ten episodes of the latest ORF series by the directing duo Mirjam Unger and Andreas Kopriva, written by Uli Brée, feature newcomers such as Anja Pichler, Mara Romei, Fanni Schneider and Theresa Riess as well as audience favorites and acting greats, including Ursula Strauss, Simon Schwarz and Claudia Kottal, can be seen.
