From the 14th to August 17, 2025 the Cardhouse gaming Again in a musical meeting room: The 41st Chopin Festival presents a top -class program with award -winning soloist: inside, ensembles from seven countries and the first women’s orchestra in Austria. Also here: renowned stars like Yves Henry -one of the most distinguished Chopin specialists of our time.
New in the artistic direction and as a headliner in the program: Donka Angatscheva, Renowned pianist and music mediator, who as the new Vice President of the Int. Chopin Society provides fresh impulses. It not only has international concert experience, but also a strong artistic presence that enriches the festival with a contemporary perspective: “My first great love was Chopin’s music. Through her I found classical music – and with it something that changed my life forever.” Also President Prof. Dr. Theodor Kanitzer emphasized: “Chopin’s music stands for peace, freedom and international understanding. We need that more urgently than ever!”
The festival sees itself as a bridge between times and cultures – with intimate acoustics and the special atmosphere of the historical monastery complex and other venues. To the highlights: after the ceremonial opening (Friday, August 15) connects the festive Dinner concert sounded and culinary delight and in “Night” you can Enjoy chopin at candlelight (Saturday, August 16). The performances in the Charterhouse are at the start of concerts in “Cathedral of the Erlauf Valley” in Scheibbs (Thursday, August 14th) and to the casual end to the Lunz sea stage (Sunday, August 17) supplemented.
