Huawei unveils AI technologies to accelerate network transformation for ubiquitous intelligence in the Net5.5G era

Shenzhen, China (ots/PRNewswire) At the Huawei Analyst Summit 2024, Steven Zhao, Vice President of Data Communications Product Line at Huawei, gave a talk titled “Accelerating Network Transformation Towards All Intelligence.” Mr. Zhao highlighted how Huawei is leveraging AI technologies to improve network capabilities at case, process and system levels and advance network intelligence. Participants, including industry partners, further explored the current trends and future prospects of the Net5.5G industry.

“Given the rapid progress of AI technologies, we recognize the tipping point for the use of network intelligence. The networks must be deeply integrated with AI technologies to bring Net5.5G into the era of intelligence,” said Steven Zhao. “We believe that network innovation in the era of Net5.5G includes two aspects: AI for networks and networks for AI. An intelligent network includes intelligent network elements (NEs), digital twins and generative AI that enable efficient, intelligent network operations. And AI-powered network solutions precisely meet the needs of intelligent networks and, more importantly, they accelerate AI training and maximize the transmission capacity of intelligent data processing.”

Huawei has pioneered the application of network intelligence technologies to data communications. In particular, Huawei’s groundbreaking Net Master (with generative AI) and HD Network Digital Map are accelerating the pace toward autonomous L4 networks. The Net5.5G High Quality 10Gbps CloudCampus solution leverages AI technologies to improve the wireless, application, and operations and maintenance (O&M) experience. And Net5.5G Converged WAN – with high throughput, high elasticity and highly guaranteed performance – delivers intelligent transmission capacity for the era of enormous computing power demands. HiSec SASE enables intelligent threat defense and increases the efficiency of security operations by 100x.

Ethan, Infrastructure Network Director at iFlytek, shared the innovative practices they employ with Huawei’s Net5.5G Xinghe Data Center Network Solution. This solution provides iFlytek with a cluster of more than 10,000 GPUs/NPUs, increasing AI model training efficiency by 17% while reducing AI training interruptions by 80%.

2024 is the first year for commercial use of Net5.5G. At this event, the World Broadband Association (WBBA) and its members introduced the industry’s Net5.5G initiatives to build high-quality, high-speed network infrastructure. The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) also looked at next-generation Net5.5G Internet architectures, which mark another wave of innovation in network technology.

Steven Zhao called on all industry players to jointly commit to Net5.5G, adopt intelligent technologies, deploy network digital twins on a large scale, and promote innovation in AI technologies, ultimately transforming the network into ubiquitous to accelerate intelligence.
