Vienna (OTS/SK) – In his reaction to the appearance of the EU’s top candidate from the Green Party, Lena Schilling, in the ORF “press hour”, SPÖ federal managing director Klaus Seltenheim emphasized today, Sunday, that only a strong SPÖ can prevent the impending shift to the right and make Europe better, fairer and more sustainable. “Right-wing and right-wing extremist forces like the AfD, Le Pen, Kickl, Orban and Co. threaten our socio-political achievements as well as fundamental freedom and human rights. The SPÖ shows the red card to the dismantling of democracy and social welfare. We will strengthen democracy and human rights, expand the rights of workers, ensure an affordable life for everyone and enforce tax justice in Europe. The SPÖ has the right answers for a fair Europe and the best European team with a lot of experience, drive and assertiveness,” Seltenheim told the SPÖ press service. ****
“The Greens have not only failed in the fight against inflation – Austria has had the highest inflation in Western Europe for months. “The Greens cannot prevail against the ÖVP on the very important issue of climate protection,” says Seltenheim. “The Climate Protection Act has been outstanding for 1,200 days, so there are still no binding climate targets. And the black-green dispute over the climate and energy plan also shows that nothing is happening when it comes to climate protection. Quite the opposite: there is a risk of fines running into millions, which Austrian taxpayers will ultimately have to pay for.”
