ORF and Hypomeeting Götzis extend partnership

The ORF Vorarlberg team is looking forward to working with the world’s best all-around athletics meeting until 2029

Vienna (OTS) The long-standing, successful collaboration between the ORF and the Hypomeeting in Götzis will continue for five more years. This ensures that the world’s best all-around meeting in athletics will be broadcast live on ORF beyond the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris and 2028 in Los Angeles. Sports fans can follow the competitions of the best heptathletes and decathletes in the Möslestadion in Götzis via live stream.

Olympic dress rehearsal in the heart of Vorarlberg

The 49th edition of this international all-around athletics meeting is all about the Olympic dress rehearsal for the international aces. The hypomeeting in Götzis also serves as a qualification opportunity for Paris and the European Championships in Rome. With Isabel Posch and Chiara Schuler, two Vorarlberg women are also fighting for starting places in these major events in the Möslestadion. In order to increase the qualification chances for the six participating Austrians, the heptathlon state championships will be held this year as part of the Hypomeeting.

Highest TV quality, glass studio and “green event”

On both competition days, May 18 and 19, 2024, the hypomeeting will be broadcast live from the first to the last competition on ORF TV on ORF SPORT +. An experienced and highly professional editorial, technical and production team ensure that top performances and emotions are captured and broadcast in the highest quality and in real time.

ORF Vorarlberg is once again a big part of Vorarlberg’s most important sporting event. ORF Radio Vorarlberg’s Transparent Studio is located directly in the Möslestadion, and on both days of the competition the entire program comes live from Götzis. The regional TV magazine “Vorarlberg today” (7 p.m., ORF 2 V) also reports in detail on both days. The team at vorarlberg.ORF.at delivers the best photos and detailed results online and what should not be missed on social media can be found on Facebook under “ORF Vorarlberg” and on Instagram under “@orfvorarlberg”.

And when it comes to sustainability, the efforts of both contractual partners continue: the ORF is implementing the broadcasts as a “green production”, the Hypomeeting itself is being organized as a “green event” and is aiming to meet the sustainability criteria of World Athletics this year.

Markus Klement, regional director of ORF Vorarlberg: “The next five years will continue to be about points, meters and seconds between the ORF and the Hypomeeting Götzis. ORF Vorarlberg is pleased to be able to support the highly exciting international competitions through multimedia and to make the outstanding achievements accessible to a broad audience.”

Johannes Aigelsreiter, head of the ORF main sports department: “Together with the ORF Vorarlberg team, we are happy to present the Hypomeeting Götzis as an internationally important sporting event from Vorarlberg on television for another five years. On ORF SPORT + we will once again bring together the best in editorial and technology to offer all athletics fans high-gloss TV.”

Thomas König, Sport Coordinator ORF Vorarlberg: “As the most important sporting event in Vorarlberg, the Hypomeeting Götzis sets new standards in terms of professionalism, atmosphere and athlete-friendliness year after year. That’s why the best come and show their best here. This meeting is always a very special highlight for the entire ORF team.”

Alexandra Giesinger, OC President Hypomeeting Götzis: “The production of our two competition days for live broadcast on national television and for international TV stations is highly complex. The joy is even greater that the continuation of the cooperation with the ORF is secured for the next few years. This partnership enables athletics and especially the all-around competition to be given their fair stage every year and the achievements of national and international athletes to be broadcast to the world.”
