The Leitz company explains important economic terms to young people

Initiative for Business Location Upper Austria (IWS) hands over 50 books “Economy – briefly explained”

Linz (OTS) “We want to strengthen the trend of conveying an understanding of business, which is part of our apprenticeship training. We are grateful for this brochure, which we will use as a practical primer,” explained HR manager Claudia Kaltenecker from Leitz Austria, the leading manufacturer of precision tools and tool systems. At the beginning of April, the Upper Austrian Business Location Initiative (IWS) handed over 50 brochures “Economy – briefly explained” for apprentice training in the modern training workshop at the company headquarters in Riedau.

“Our social market economy is the prerequisite for prosperity, social security and quality of life and a stable democracy! Anyone who understands economic contexts can have a better say,” emphasizes IWS Managing Director Gottfried Kneifel, and IWS President Christoph Leitl is certain that Europe has grown together into a political union through the economy: “Anyone who understands the economy can also promote cooperation within it Understanding the EU better.”

An IWS study commissioned by the Spectra Institute recently showed that not even one in two respondents can explain the terms profit (46 percent), export/import (42 percent) or equity (41 percent) very well. The brochure “Economy – briefly explained”, 96 pages, published by Trauner, is primarily offered free of charge to companies for apprentice training and to ARGE teachers at middle and high schools for teaching purposes.
