“Grill the stove” as the motto for LINKS’ AK election campaign
Vienna (OTS) – At the start of the Chamber of Labor election in Vienna, LINKS will be handing out free sausages at Simmeringer Platz on April 11th from 11:30 a.m. under the motto “Grill the stove”. Behind the grill is LINKS top candidate and sausage stand employee Florian Rath himself. Sausages are offered in the classic pork version, but also in vegan and halal versions. The action takes place near a mobile polling station for the Chamber of Labor election.
LINKS is running in the Vienna AK election for the first time this year. The Vienna party’s top candidate is Florian Rath, a sausage stand employee and former works council member at an IT company who lost his job after an anti-union campaign. Rath is involved in his neighborhood, organizes German tutoring, supports his neighbors with administrative procedures and organizes furniture transport to the Macondo refugee settlement.
On Thursday, April 11th, Rath himself will be behind the grill for LINKS and will treat the people of Simmering to three kinds of sausages. The sausages made from pork, turkey and a vegan version are free for all hungry guests. “In keeping with the concept of ‘kitchen for all’, we also want to use the AK election as an opportunity and distribute free food again.
“The motto ‘Grill the stove’ is aimed at criticizing Labor Minister Martin Kocher. “While many people can no longer afford their daily lives, Labor Minister Kocher is agitating against the unemployed and non-Austrian citizens. It is precisely these groups that are eligible to vote in the AK election and can cast their vote.

The Chamber of Labor election will take place in companies from April 10th to 23rd. Voting by postal vote has been possible since the beginning of April. AK mobile polling stations, which enable physical voting outside of companies, offer an additional option. For the first time, LEFT is on the ballot paper and is running with consistent, left-wing demands and an impressive 50 candidates.
