Season one as a streaming success; a total of 1.545 million viewers on TV
Vienna (OTS) – The ski season is over for the ÖSV aces – and the next generation of sporting talents in the “School of Champions” can also stow away their “boards” after the ski winter, as filming for the second season, produced by ORF and SRF, has begun popular series concluded at the end of March. However, viewers still have to wait a bit for the result – the new episodes with even more speed, even more action and even more drama, in which Emilia Warenski, Imre Lichtenberger, Luna Mwezi, Mikka Forcher and Moritz Uhl take on a new discipline and go into the downhill squat are expected to be shown on ORF 1 in 2025. However, the change of pace on the slopes is not the only challenge for the young cast, which also includes Jakob Seeböck, Josephine Ehlert, Gregor Seberg, Simon Hatzl, Thomas Mraz, Ferdinand Hofer, Judith Altenberger, Sonja Romei, Ferdinand Seebacher and Anna Thunhart stood in front of the camera in the Gastein Valley and in Vienna. The young athletes are confronted with the question of how far they are willing to go for each other. Jakob Fischer and Dominik Hartl sat in the director’s chair. The scripts come from executive producer and head writer Samuel Schultschik as well as Marie-Therese Thill, Thomas Eichtinger and Marlene Rudy.
A total of 1.545 million attended the “School of Champions” in their first TV school year
Fans of the series don’t have to miss out on their favorite sporting school class until the new episodes start: the first season of “School of Champions”, which takes place on ORF-1 series Monday from January 22nd to February 12th at 8:15 p.m. in double episodes a total of 1.545 million viewers and thus 20 percent of the Austrian TV population aged twelve and over (largest circle of viewers) have strapped on their skis together with the young hopefuls, is still available on ORF ON and in the TVthek app . The opening episode was most heavily used with up to 615,000 and an average of 576,000 viewers as well as market shares of 19 (12+) and 27 percent each in the young target groups 12-29 and 12-49. On average, 515,000 people did not want to miss the eight episodes of the first season, with market shares of 17 (12+) or 28 (12-29) and 25 percent (12-49). The first season was particularly popular with young audiences, as evidenced by the top market share of 33 percent at 12-29 in the finale on March 12th.
And the ORF streams of “School of Champions” have also been used intensively since the TV broadcast: According to online moving image measurement (AGTT/GfK TELETEST census), the live streams and videos on demand of the entire first season achieved in Austria has so far a total of 454,000 net views (related usage processes) and 803,000 gross views (video starts). In total, the total usage volume was 20.9 million minutes. The entire first season of “School of Champions” is still available to stream on ORF ON and in the TVthek app.
The young athletes are also popular in Germany. The eight episodes of the first “School of Champions” season have already been viewed over 5 million times in the ARD media library (video starts).
