Easter Festival Tyrol 2024 with an extremely positive response

On Easter Sunday, the 36th Tyrol Easter Festival ended with a standing ovation for the dance piece “Prélude” by Kader Attou.

Hall in Tirol (OTS) Artists from all over the world dedicated themselves to “er.creation” with the help of various genres from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday.

The 36th Tyrol Easter Festival was a wonderful success in all respects. The combination of old and new, and generally the contemporary considerations, captivated the audience. Ensembles such as Names and Holland Baroque were rediscovered for the festival. One of the highlights was Philippe Herreweghe’s interpretation of the St. Matthew Passion“, says Hannah Crepaz (artistic director).

Contemporary music transformed the Hall salt warehouse into a place of special sound experiences. The opening with Cantando Admont, “Im Bett des Imaginarium” and Grisey’s “Le Noir de l’Étoile” with the drum collective Tirol were heard.

Austrian premieres by the companies Anania Danses, Ultima Vez and Accrorap thrilled the audience in the Dogana and showed different approaches to exploring the motto. Food for thought was provided by Omar Rajeh’s performances “Dance Is not for Us”, Zoë Demoustier’s “What Remains”, “Precarious Moves” by Michael Turinsky and the world premiere “Volume 1” by the Broom Company.

Numerous events were sold out, and with over 6,000 visitors the festival can look back on a successful edition.

The 2025 festival will take place from April 4th to 20th. “We look positively into the future and hope to be able to continue to build on what was originally achieved through discussions with the city of Hall“, so Hannah Crepaz.
