In order to address the shortage of skilled workers, Economics and Labor Minister Martin Kocher (ÖVP) wants to increase the number of issued in the coming years Red-white-red cards increase significantly. In the next four years – starting from the end of 2023 – the number of cards is expected to double from 8,079 at the time, i.e. to around 16,000. The duration of the procedure should be halved, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Labor announced on Monday.
