Corrected new version of OTS00010 from March 11, 2024: PAYUCA makes BUWOG Garage in Leipzig fit for the future

PAYUCA prepares BUWOG Garage for the mobility transition

Our business model of making off-street parking and charging – during working hours or in a private parking space at home – as easy as possible is an important part of driving forward the mobility transition

Wolfgang Wegmayer, Co-CEO PAYUCA GmbH

Leipzig (OTS) The prestigious BUWOG Atrio project is currently being built on an approximately 8,500 m² site in the heart of Leipzig city center. The Viennese company PAYUCA Park & Charge was commissioned to plan and prepare e-charging infrastructure for 149 car parking spaces in the facility’s underground car park. 259 high-quality condominiums are being built here.

E-charging infrastructure and living

Apartments with garage spaces without e-charging infrastructure are no longer up-to-date and disadvantageous when it comes to selling real estate. “Every future owner of an apartment should also have the opportunity to easily and quickly get a wallbox for their electric car,” says Wolfgang Wegmayer, Co-CEO of PAYUCA GmbH. “Especially for new buildings, it is necessary to have the charging infrastructure pre-planned immediately; this is cheaper and less complicated. That’s why it’s also an advantage for project developers and residential property developers to secure network capacities directly during planning, because these are sometimes only available to a limited extent,” continued Wegmayer.

Charging options push the mobility transition

Achieving the climate goals, saving CO2 and forgetting about the charging infrastructure is a contradiction in terms: “According to a study, 78% of long-term parkers want charging options at their own parking space and make the purchase of an electric car dependent on the availability of the charging infrastructure dependent,” says PAYUCA’s co-CEO Wolfgang Wegmayer with certainty. “Our business model of making off-street parking and charging – during working hours or in a private parking space at home – as easy as possible is an important part of driving forward the mobility transition“, Wegmayer is convinced.

Live green and live green

The BUWOG Atrio project is a showcase project when it comes to achieving climate goals. In addition to 149 future charging options for electric vehicles, sufficient bicycle parking spaces and enough green spaces to play and spend time in the fresh air, the “Atrio” also offers an area for urban gardening. “It’s a multi-faceted residential building project, we’re proud to be able to play a part in it,” says Wegmayer with satisfaction.
