Vienna (OTS/SK) – SPÖ Ombudsman spokesman Rudolf Silvan regrets the death of the former head of trauma surgery at the Lorenz-Böhler Accident Hospital Prof. Dr. Johannes Poigenfürst deeply. “Our thoughts are with the relatives!” said National Council member Silvan. As head of trauma surgery in the Lorenz-Böhler Accident Hospital of the General Accident Insurance AUVA, Poigenfürst helped thousands of people after serious accidents at work and thus brought them back to life. He was co-editor of the newspapers “current traumatology” and “traumatology” and an expert in his field. In 1993, Poigenfürst also initiated the construction of the Casa Austria accident hospital in Timisoara, Romania. Silvan was able to briefly get to know Poigenfürst personally in his role as chairman of the AUVA regional office in Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland, and remembers Poigenfürst as an outstanding personality.
