Charlotte Fresenius Private University is expanding international networks

Sustainability expert Rob Melnick from Arizona State University is joining the scientific advisory board of the first private university with a sustainability focus.

Vienna (OTS/LCG) The Charlotte Fresenius Private University of Vienna is expanding its already internationally top-class scientific advisory board to include another major player in academic sustainability research. Rob Melnick from the US Arizona State University will be a member of the committee that deals with quality assurance and the ongoing evaluation of research content and its output. In addition, the scientific advisory board has an advisory role in the fundamental orientation and further development of the first private university with a focus on sustainability.

“The future of academic education is being written at the Charlotte Fresenius Private University in Vienna. The integrated understanding of sustainability in the degree programs enables a redesign of the economy. Sustainable business is the global task of the future that can only be solved through international scientific cooperation.”Melnick emphasized.

The scientific advisory board of the first private university with a focus on sustainability includes Melnick Romani Turkish (Nature Conservation Association, Austria), Peter Weish (Forum of Austrian Scientists for Environmental Protection), Agueda Benito (Cintana Allianz, USA), Katalin Islands (Westminster Business School, United Kingdom), Helmut Krcmar (Technical University of Munich, Germany), Renate Oberhoffer-Fritz (Technical University of Munich, Germany), Thomas Potthast (University of Tübingen, Germany), Lucia Reisch (Cambridge Judge Business School, United Kingdom), Katja Rost (University of Zurich, Switzerland) and Rainer Maria Wagner (Topstar, Germany).

About Rob Melnick

Rob Melnick is Director of International Programs and Presidential Professor of Practice at the School of Sustainability at Arizona State University. From 2008 to 2018, he was executive director and executive dean of the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability and the School of Sustainability. Prior to these positions, he served as Director of the Morrison Institute for Public Policy at Arizona State University from 1987 to 2008 and then as Associate Vice President for Economic Affairs (2002 to 2008) and Associate Vice Provost for Research (2001 to 2003). Melnick also holds academic appointments as a research scholar at the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability and as affiliate faculty at ASU’s School of Public Affairs. Immediately prior to ASU, Melnick was a senior fellow and vice president of the Hudson Institute, where he was responsible for policy studies on employment and education. In addition to his administrative duties, he teaches courses on urban sustainability and sustainability policy. He is the co-author of three books and numerous policy research studies.
