We Lower Austrian ÖVP women: LAbg. Silke Dammerer was elected state chairwoman with 100 percent

St. Pölten (OTS) Already in October last year, LAbg. Silke Dammerer was nominated by the state executive board as the designated state chairwoman. At today’s state assembly of We Lower Austrian women, she stood for election and was elected as the new state chairwoman with 100 percent.

“It is a great honor and responsibility that I take on with great joy and determination,” commented LABg. Silke Dammerer on her election. “We Lower Austrians are a strong community of committed women and I am determined to support them in their work and to pursue our goals with full commitment.” The new state chairwoman is particularly interested in three subject areas – the compatibility of family and career, Women and finance and health.

At the side of our new state chairwoman are two state deputies: city chairwoman Katharina Danninger and Federal Councilor Viktoria Hutter. In addition, representatives from all districts of Lower Austria were elected for the first time: from the industrial district, chairwoman Andrea Kö, Weinviertel chairwoman Elisabeth Schüttengruber-Holly, from the Waldviertel Federal Council President Margit Göll and Mostviertel chairwoman Gudrun Haas. With their new functions and their commitment, they will actively support the state chairwoman in her tasks.

The entire board would like to thank the outgoing country manager Doris Berger-Grabner and wishes her all the best and much success in her new professional tasks! At the same time, all of us Lower Austrian ÖVP women welcome LAbg. Silke Dammerer and look forward to constructive cooperation.

State Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner on the new election: “We Lower Austrians have already achieved a lot for women in our state. Because in Lower Austria we are pursuing a policy for women that is not based on ideology, but rather on tangible measures such as a massive expansion of childcare and an increase in the number of women in leadership positions. The “We Lower Austrians” make a significant contribution to this. Thanks to Doris Berger-Grabner for her commitment and congratulations to LAbg. Silke Dammerer and her team on their new tasks. Lower Austria needs strong women like you who will move our state forward.”

Congratulations also come from the federal leader of the ÖVP Women’s Members of the National Council Juliane Bogner-Strauß: “I am pleased about the strong vote for Silke and her team and support the course they have chosen. Silke Dammerer is a strong and courageous comrade-in-arms for women’s concerns and I am sure that, together with her committed team, she is the right choice for Lower Austria. Thank you also for the commitment and commitment of the previous country manager, Doris Berger-Grabner, and all the best for your future journey. We ÖVP women will stand up for women consistently, especially in this election year, because only together can we really be successful on our path!”

Finally, we are pleased about the election of our new state chairwoman and her deputies. With their drive, we are confident that they will effectively represent the interests of women in Lower Austria. Especially in view of International Women’s Day on March 8th, we have a lot planned and are determined to continue to advocate for women’s concerns and support them in the best possible way.
