Successful enjoyment networking in the Vienna Woods: culinary fair “More regionality for your guest” delighted partners

LH Johanna Mikl-Leitner: “Where enjoyment, hospitality and comfort are very important!”

Purkersdorf (OTS) More than 46 producers, including 17 wine-growing businesses, presented their products on the tasting table at the culinary fair “More regionality for your guests” in Perchtoldsdorf Castle as an incredible variety of enjoyment: 300 guests from the catering, tourism and leisure sectors followed the invitation and took the opportunity to get to know culinary products and make contacts. A comprehensive information service and know-how offer from Wienerwald Tourismus, AMA, ECOPLUS, “This is how NÖ tastes”, Wifi NÖ and the NÖ Wirtshauskultur rounded off the offer. The focus was on networking, with over 120 entertaining speed dates between producers and restaurateurs also offering new formats. New perspectives and developments were often the focus of the stage program with Haya Molcho, Parvin Razavi, Georg Stocker, Thomas Reinisch and other stars of local cuisine and gastronomy, such as food expert Hanni Rützler and master sommelier René Application.

The opening by State Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner and State Secretary Susanne Kraus-Winkler was also a top-class event. “Our hosts are known far beyond the borders of our state for wonderful regional food and excellent drinks. “For our tourism professionals, who value regional and seasonal ingredients, a close interaction between agriculture and tourism is essential. In short: Agriculture and tourism are an unbeatable team in Lower Austria“, emphasizes State Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner for whom the cuisine is one of the top travel reasons in Lower Austria.

That also underlines Tourism State Secretary Susanne Kraus-Winkler:Our guests are increasingly looking for authentic culinary experiences. The Vienna Woods is an ideal destination for this – tradition meets taste here. Of course, regional, seasonal and sustainably produced food is important for this. The culinary fair “More regionality for your guests” is the perfect opportunity to network tourist businesses with regional producers. In this way, we are making Austria a bit more tangible as a culinary destination, as is also stipulated in the Tourism Master Plan.

Wienerwald Tourismus and its partners from the Lower Austrian Chamber of Agriculture (Ing. Johann Tröber), WK Niederösterreich (SO Mario Pulker), WK Vienna (SO Markus Grießler), Weinforum Thermenregion (Dipl-Ing. Heinrich Hartl), Vienna Woods Biosphere Park Management (Andreas Weiß) and the Vienna Chamber of Agriculture (President Norbert Walter). We are rightly proud of our shared success: “Regionality, seasonality and sustainability are more than just a trend topic in gastronomy. Refined quality products are a feature of the Vienna Woods tourist region in many areas. Everyone benefits equally from even better networking between the players responsible for this“, are themselves Wienerwald Tourism CEO Michael Wollinger and his partners Some.

The fact that the culinary fair had a lot to offer in this regard was also demonstrated by the regional range of enjoyment with fish & meat products, fruit & vegetables, juices & syrups, wine, beer, fine spirits, coffee, water, and other specialties (such as tofu , vinegar & oil), confectionery, noble edible mushrooms, serviceberry and dirndl products as well as locally exotic items such as Indian banana and hedgehog beard mushroom. And at the wine bar, typical regional grape varieties and a selection of top 100 wines from the thermal region were tasted. Caterer Alexander from Perchtoldsdorf served fine regional dishes.
