Third season of the ORF/ZDF crime series with Stemberger and Gawlowski from March 12th on ORF 1
Vienna (OTS) – In the second season of the ORF/ZFD crime series, an average of 450,000 viewers with a market share of 16 percent went in search of clues together with the investigators from the Police Cooperation Center. The third season of “Soko Linz” now presents itself with proven tension, even more action and new whispers of love – a fatal party night, illegal puppy trade, family turbulence and great emotions included. All the more cohesion is required when Katharina Stemberger, Daniel Gawlowski, Anna Hausburg, Alexander Pschill and Damyan Andreev as well as Miriam Hie and Paula Hainberger from March 12, 2024 on Tuesdays at 8:15 p.m. and at the start at 9:05 p.m. on ORF 1 as well as before They will be back in action 24 hours in advance on ORF ON and in the TVthek app. Lisa Schützenberger is a new colleague assisting the Austrian-German team at the Police Cooperation Center in the 13 new cases. The episode roles include Nicole Beutler, Julia Cencig, Andrea Eckert, Markus Freistätter, Alina Fritsch, Katrin Lux, Simon Morzé, Anton Noori with son Liam Noori, Mark Seibert and Robert Finster. This time, the investigations in and around Linz lead, among other places, to the Paneum, the Pöstlingbergbahn, the Mural Harbor Gallery and Bad Ischl. The female trio Claudia Jüptner-Jonstorff, Felicitas Korn and Kim Strobl are responsible for directing the third season of the ORF/ZDF crime series. The scripts come from Hubert and Anna Eckert, Harald Haller, Ralph Werner, Alrun Fichtenbauer, who also acts as head writer, Nicola Dörper, Mondo23 as well as Bastian Zach and Matthias Bauer. “Soko Linz” is a co-production between ORF and ZDF, produced by Gebhardt Productions with support from the state of Upper Austria. First impressions of the third season of “Soko Linz” were given today, Monday, February 26th, in the ORF Upper Austria regional studio as part of a press conference moderated by Günther Madlberger in the presence of, among others, Upper Austria’s Governor Thomas Stelzer, State Councilor for Economic Affairs and Tourism Markus Achleitner, ORF general director Roland Weißmann, ORF country director Klaus Obereder, producer Florian Gebhardt, Katharina Stemberger, Daniel Gawlowski and other actresses, actors and participants.
Governor Thomas Stelzer: “In the 13 new episodes, ‘Soko Linz’ not only shows places worth seeing in the state capital, but also from all of Upper Austria, from Bad Ischl to the hop fields in the Mühlviertel – that shows how much the series has grown. The series is not only exciting and entertaining, but has now become a real advertising medium. It presents the beauties of our country to a broad TV audience and is therefore a real benefit. I’m already looking forward to the new episodes.”
State Councilor for Economic Affairs and Tourism Markus Achleitner: “In 13 new episodes, the ‘Soko Linz’ is once again investigating Upper Austria and the state capital Linz. The fact that the third season of this crime series has now been completed shows that ‘Soko Linz’ is now very popular with television audiences. This television series therefore brings a double benefit to Upper Austria: On the one hand, the filming results in high regional added value. On the other hand, this TV production offers the opportunity to present Upper Austria and its state capital in its many interesting facets to a broad television audience. The new episodes show a beautiful and comprehensive picture of Linz and Upper Austria, as the filming locations for the third season have been expanded to include a variety of attractive locations in our federal state. It’s all the more pleasing that ‘Soko Linz’ will now continue to investigate in a fourth season.”

Katharina Stemberger: “At the beginning of this season, Cupid probably positioned himself at a good vantage point and fired a few arrows accurately. Joe deals with tuning in to her feelings – and checks on them a few times. She meets a childhood love and a story that she couldn’t solve when she was young – and gets a second chance.” And further: “There are filming locations that inspire me, and also scenes that I really enjoyed playing – the interrogation scenes , the conversations with Richie and of course the love story are very interesting to me.”
Daniel Gawlowski: “It’s not for nothing that they say all good things come in threes. And I can also say that with conviction about the third season – it is more moving, more dynamic and more exciting than the previous two seasons and is a pleasure not only for crime lovers, but also for those audiences who want to take a look behind the detective’s life want to throw figures. What has never been done before with any ‘Soko’ is that the crime thriller experience is complemented by exciting and moving private stories of the characters. I wanted a little more action, chases and fight scenes – and the screenwriters fulfilled my wishes.”
