Toyota Material Handling Europe and Gideon enter into strategic cooperation agreement for new automated logistics solutions.

Vienna, Wr Neudorf (OTS) Today, there is an increasing demand in the market for simple, autonomous solutions with self-navigating devices and simple user interface. In response to this demand, Toyota Material Handling Europe has announced a cooperation agreement with Gideon – a Zagreb-based technology company that develops cutting-edge software solutions for the localization and control of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).

By combining Gideon technology and Toyota industrial trucks, total solutions provider Toyota Material Handling is able to quickly respond to increasing market demand. As a result of the cooperation, a large number of logistics applications can be automated and project implementation times can be significantly shortened. Specific areas of application for which Gideon has already developed offerings include the collaborative picking of boxes for retail order processing as well as the loading and unloading of trucks using a complete software package developed specifically for these processes.

Gideon-CEO Josip Ćesić explained: “Toyota’s industrial truck expertise and high market coverage, combined with Gideon’s software package and our focus on specific applications, offer end customers unparalleled added value.”

Patric Hed, SVP Logistics Solutions at Toyota Material Handling Europe, adds: “Gideon has developed an impressive software stack and vision modules that combine flexible, intelligent, autonomous behavior with a focus on specific logistics applications and usability and will provide added value to our customers for years to come.”

Toyota plans to launch new application solutions later this year, starting with retail order fulfillment solutions. The global market leader is confident that complementing its own expertise in the field of industrial trucks with Gideon technology will represent an even more attractive offer for customers looking to automate their logistics processes.
