Vienna (OTS) – The fact that everyday life in the “School of Champions” is not only challenging for the young top athletes can be seen on the ORF 1 series on Monday, February 5th, 2024, at 8:15 p.m. and on Sunday, February 4th 8:15 p.m. (episode 5) and 9:05 p.m. (episode 6) on ORF ON and in the TVthek app in two new episodes of the ORF series about a ski boarding school in the Austrian mountains. On the one hand, there is the headmaster, who has his hands full – not only with keeping the academy running, which would be difficult enough in itself, but also with his son, who has just been admitted to the school, and two women of which is ex, but still very present. The other, head coach at the “School of Champions”, is now pursuing visionary goals. She wants to completely change the training methods and is encountering a lot of headwind because she wants to see success – and quickly. As the head of the school and former ski ace, Mark Auer (Jakob Seeböck) always has to act as a great role model. He is constantly overwhelmed by everything. From the relationship with his head coach Franziska Huber (Josephine Ehlert), to the difficult relationship with his son Nikki (Imre Lichtenberger) and the financial burden to the social pressure from the village because of the deceased student. An image problem that has already cost the school all its sponsors. When the last hope for financially saving the school is Mark’s ex-wife Edda (Stephanie Japp) and her sustainable ski clothing company, Mark has to start making decisions. As long as Mark doesn’t stand up, Helmut Schiesstl (Gregor Seberg), the school’s main owner, fills this vacuum with old warhorses like coach Stefan Veighofer (Simon Hatzl).

Franziska Huber was able to collect more medals during her active racing career than Mark Auer. She was the star of the German ski team. She moved into the coaching side to ensure that the young talent wasn’t just left to the old white men that she had to contend with throughout her athletic career. She wants to do everything differently at school – and she wants to do it right. She has to experience how difficult it is to continue pursuing her visionary approaches with increasing time and success pressure and not to overlook what is happening right in front of her eyes. When Veighofer comes to school, she suddenly has to show Nawal (Luna Mwezi) the success of her therapy, triggering a far-reaching chain reaction.
