Granada, Spanien (ots/PRNewswire)
- At the art campaign in an olive grove in Granada, almost 800 took from naked, green -painted voluntary part that came from different parts of Spain and Europe
- The artistic initiative is a homage to art, culture and the Andalusian region and is supported by Cervezas Alhambra, a brewery founded in Granada a century ago.
To celebrate its 100th anniversary, Cervezas Alhambra invited the renowned American artist Spencer Tunick to create a large-format art installation in Granada. Under the title Portrait Alhambra 1925 gathered almost 800 of naked volunteers who were covered with green color. They formed a living picture that was intended as a homage to Andalusia, the natural environment and the characteristic aesthetics of Cervezas Alhambra, which is symbolized by the characteristic “naked” bottle without a label.
The art installation – the first of Spencer Tunick in Andalusia – began with the morning light that played a key role in the composition. Generous and adventurous participants from all over Spain and Europe got involved in the natural landscape and created a picture of impressive visual and symbolic effects.
The artist, who is internationally known for his photo compositions, showing naked people in public space, emphasized at the end of the event “I’ve always wanted to use green body color in my work, I had this idea for 15 years to somehow bring the body visually closer to nature and at the same time add an increased element of surrealism. Green was used in the past of artists to create utopian landscapes in which surrealism and imagination have been mixed. Now I was trying to try green.”
Emmanuel Pouey, Chief Marketing Officer von Mahou San Miguel, Said : “The art installation of Spencer Tunick is a celebration of the Andalusian identity and the Sin Prisa philosophy, which has been leading Cervezas Alhambra for a hundred years by taking the necessary time to create works that will live on like Retrato Alhambra in 1925.”
In the near future, the final picture of the installation will be unveiled as a homage of Cervezas Alhambra of Andalusia in the year of its hundredth anniversary, which underlines the company its ongoing commitment to support artists, culture and its deep connection with the region.
