“This is a climate and budget-political ghost trip. Instead of doing more for climate protection, the Federal Government spends up to 400 million euros for tax exemptions from the dirty cars. While the government is more expensive and reduced the climate and social benefits, it has this knee in front of the AutoLobby millions and removes us even further from our climate boards,” says Lukas Hammer, environmental spokesmanship.
According to APA, more than 20,000 companies benefit from tax exemption. The Economics Association expects an average of between 10,000 and 20,000 euros per company, which results in between 200 and 400 million euros that are missing in the budget.
“SPÖ and Neos have fallen over again and have directed it to the Economic Association,” says Hammer.
“The ÖVP seems to have prevailed,” says Jakob Schwarz, budget speaker of the Greens.
“With the small loaders, the reason was that it was ‘craftsman cars’. Obviously, this was only a shameful if the pickups should now be freed. The ÖVP should explain how this should help with the Austrian industry with exports or that strengthens competitiveness,” says Schwarz and reminds that this tax exemption in the last legislative period as part of the green the Nova was abolished.
