This Friday, numerous guests met for the end of the first construction phase in the Alte Reitschule in Grafenegg, which will become the Rudolf Buchbinder Hall in the future. Managing Director Simone Bamberg welcomed representatives from art, culture, economy, construction companies and from politics, above all regional chief Johanna Mikl-Leitner.
Grafenegg is “an institution with radiance into the world,” said the governor at the beginning. This radiance has achieved it primarily through the “world pianist Rudolf Buchbinder”. “The new hall bears its name from appreciation, respect and recognition for its great achievements,” emphasized Mikl-Leitner.
One invests 15 million euros here, “because we, as the country of Lower Austria, have a great responsibility when it comes to getting historical buildings for the next generations”, and because Grafenegg is an important part of the country’s cultural strategy. She stated: “Cultural policy has an extremely positive effect on economy and tourism and I am convinced that this investment will come back many times in the future.” In addition, with the new Rudolf Buchbinder Hall, Grafenegg becomes “even more about the place of culture and inspiration, which will attract many world stars and young talents.”
Mikl-Leitner concludes: “Art and culture are source of strength for people in challenging times, so we will always develop Grafenegg.”
Rudolf Buchbinder said that he feels “grateful, deeply touched and moving to get such a project as a living artist.” The size of the Rudolf Buchbinder-Hall is the ideal addition to the existing concert sites, says Buchbinder, “and it will be the ideal hall for chamber concerts.”
The architect and planner of the renovation project Ernst Maurer, who thanked everyone involved for the good cooperation and gave a review and outlook on the Rudolf-Buchbinder hall. The guests were able to look at the current status of the renovation work as part of a construction site management.
